National Universities That Offer Full Ride Scholarships

Paying for college can sometimes feel impossible. With tuition, room, and board coming to almost $60,000 per year at many schools, most families are unable to afford the published sticker prices. However, there are literally hundreds of colleges in the country that are willing to pay everything for the most talented students regardless of their financial circumstances. A full ride scholarship includes tuition, room, board, and mandatory fees. To graduate, full ride students don’t have to pay a dime.

That said, these scholarships are almost always extremely competitive. Johns Hopkins, which already admits only a fraction of applicants, reserves their full ride for the most attractive two or three candidates in the applicant pool. The less selective the college, likely the less selective the scholarship is. If your ultimate goal is to get one of these scholarships, your best bet will be at a college where you are far more qualified than the typical applicant.

Below is a list of national universities that offer full ride scholarships. Though US News and World Report rankings are not a good judge of the quality of a college, this list is in rank order as it provides more meaningful organization than an alphabetized list. Stay tuned later in the week for a list of liberal arts colleges that offer full ride scholarships.
