Collegiate Mentees Earn College Acceptances and Scholarships
Congratulations to Sean Lee, Malcolm Lizzappi, Ashleandra Opoku, and Vincent Tang who have some wonderful accomplishments to celebrate!
Sean Lee, a senior at Monte Vista High School in Cupertino, California, was awarded a University of Chicago University Scholarship valued at $5,000 per year. He was also admitted to Yale University — National University Singapore College
where he was awarded a Community Scholarship valued at $3,500 per year. Finally, Sean earned a University Achievement Scholarship at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign worth $12,000 per year, the highest award given to out-of-state applicants.
Vincent Tang, a senior at Deer Creek High School in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, was admitted to the University of British Columbia and was named a Chancellor’s Scholar. In addition, he earned a scholarship valued at $35,000 to the University of Oklahoma. Vincent was also named a member of the Oklahoma Academic All State, a designation given to the top 100 seniors in Oklahoma.
Malcolm Lizzappi, a senior at DeBakey High School in Houston, Texas, was admitted to both Columbia University and Duke University.
Ashleandra Opoku, a senior at Michael J. Petrides School in Staten Island, New York, was named a New York Horatio Alger Scholar. The Horatio Alger New York Scholarship Program provides $5,000 in financial assistance to 25 students in the State of New York who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
We are so proud of our amazing mentees and commend them for their dedication and passion which they demonstrated in their college applications. We cannot wait to hear where each mentee will end up in the fall.
